The island of Mindanao in southern Philippines has been the scene of a protracted conflict between the Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). During hostilities, children have been killed, injured and displaced. In some cases, they were part of the MILF, not necessarily to participate directly in combats but to work as cooks, porters, to clean guns and other support activities.
