Elections to the Senate and general elections, tensions between neighbouring countries and the emergence of new groups and continued threats from militant groups affected the security situation, including children’s rights and protection. Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Newly Merged Districts remained the main geographical areas of concern.
